How to Prevent Mold in Plastic Electroplated Parts
In the summer, some plastic electroplating plants in the south often find some white spots on the plated parts, and it is difficult to wipe off, affecting the appearance of the product, and even lead to scrap. Although the electroplating process conditions are normal, it is difficult to avoid, and even large quantities. This is a special electroplating problem, known as the electroplating mold.
Prevention methods:
According to the above discussion, the key to prevent mold spots in plastic electroplating parts is to control the source of mold and rot microorganisms and minimize the chance of their contact with products. And in its effective attachment stage and place for sterilization treatment, as far as possible to eliminate the living conditions of mold microorganisms. The following specific measures can be used in actual production:
(1) Pay attention to the ventilation, dust removal and sterilization of workshops and warehouses, and minimize or eliminate the source of mold and rot microbial pollution.
(2) Keep the raw materials clean and hygienic. For example, sodium citrate solution for electroless nickel plating should be heated to about 80 ℃ for sterilization treatment before adding.
(3) The water used should be sterilized. The ion exchange resin in the water purification device should be regularly sterilized and cleaned with formaldehyde or ethanol. After electroless nickel plating, an appropriate amount of formaldehyde should be added to the water tank for sterilization every day, and ethanol should be applied when wiping the tank in each shift. The water for washing after bright chrome plating must be irradiated with ultraviolet light for sterilization.
(4) The temperature and time for drying the electroplated parts must be sufficient, and it is absolutely forbidden to have water on the workpiece after drying.
(5) The white gauze gloves used by inspection and packaging workers are dry and clean, and plastic film gloves should be worn inside.
(6) packaging supplies should be clean and dry, can be put in the box desiccant and fungicide.
(7) Electroplated parts should not be placed in high temperature and high humidity workshops for too long, and should be quickly moved into the warehouse after packaging.
